IEEE AP/S Student Design Competition

Challenge: Build and design a system that utilizes a nanoVNA to demonstrate flexible, robust on-body antennas for communications, energy harvesting, and other applications.

Prizes: Win the opportunity to travel to the 2024 IEEE AP-S Symposium in Florence, Italy, and compete for cash awards. The top 6 teams will receive travel funds. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be announced at the conference and will receive cash awards of USD $1,500, $750, and $250, respectively.

Important Deadlines:

Preliminary Design Submission: December 31, 2023
Final Design Submission: May 20, 2024

Eligibility:

Teams of 2 to 5 students
At least 50% undergraduate students
Supervised by a professional mentor who is an IEEE AP-S member

Support from EMG at Prince Sultan University:

Comprehensive support by EMG, including access to simulation tools and hands-on experience.
The nanoVNA required for the competition is available at EMG.

Application and Review Process:

Six semi-finalist teams selected by January 20, 2024, will receive USD $1,500 each to build and test their designs.
Final design submission by May 20, 2024, including a video demonstration, step-by-step instructions, and a final report.
